Turn Grumbling into Gratitude

Campus Life is here to help people move one step closer to Jesus. This is our mission. This is our goal. This is our passion. This is our calling.

Happy New Year to all of our Campus Life Friends,

I have to admit that I really don’t have much patience with complainers. You know who they are. They continually complain about the weather, their job, their family, their friends, their church. Every problem is someone else's fault. Nothing or no one is ever good enough (in their eyes). I recently had one of these people in my office. I tried to be patient, but after about 10 minutes I couldn’t take it anymore and I said, “Ok, I understand that you’re not happy with this situation, but are you going to continue to be part of the problem or do you want to be part of the solution? You need to step up and take some responsibility for your part and help fix the problem.” They didn’t really like my comment, but after about another hour of discussion I do think that we made some progress.

It’s easy to complain, but that’s not what we are called to do. We are here to worship and be obedient to God, and to serve people. That’s what we strive for every day here at Campus Life, and I hope that as we enter this new year we can all be… part of the solution and not part of the problem. Let’s all work to help people move one step closer to Jesus.

We are so excited about what God will be doing through the ministry of Campus Life in 2023, but we continue to celebrate what He did in 2022, especially in December. This past month has been amazing as we have watched God work in so many ways. Just a few highlights:

  • Juvenile Jail - We now have Bible studies three nights per week for kids in jail, and we packed and delivered more than 20 Christmas gifts to those kids and their correctional officers.

  • Assisted Living Facilities - We expanded our visitation ministry to more facilities, and we delivered over 350 Christmas gifts (packed by our Senior Connect group) to residents of those assisted living facilities.

  • High School/Middle School Students - We gathered material and raised money to pack 59 presents for Operation Christmas Child, and then a group of 20+ students and adults from Campus Life traveled to Chicago to help with boxing and shipping.

These are just a few of the things we did, but there was much more. This past year was awesome, and we can’t wait to see what God will do in 2023. Stay tuned.

A very big THANK YOU to everyone who has or will soon contribute to our annual Phoneless Phone-a-thon. Although we still have a ways to go to reach our goal, we thank God for the way He has and will bless us.

We hope and pray that as you start off 2023 you are experiencing God’s blessing in your life and His love in your heart. Words cannot adequately express our appreciation for your friendship and support. Thank you for partnering with us in sharing the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.
