Dear Campus Life Friends,
I was visiting with an elderly woman a few weeks ago, talking about her life and some of the health challenges she has had. At the end of our conversation I asked if I could pray for her. Her response was shocking.
She said, “No one has ever asked if they could pray for me. That’s so nice of you”.
This is a Christian woman with Christian friends, who attends a Christian church. Why hasn’t anyone ever asked to pray for her? Praying with people is something we do all the time here at Campus Life. It’s part of our DNA, who we are and what we do. But this is something we should all be doing. I would like to challenge you. Talk with your friends and acquaintances about your
relationship with the Lord and ask them if you can pray for them – and then do it. You might be the first person who has ever asked that question.
“It is time to transition – again.” I don’t know how many times we have said that over the past months. Modifying programs, changing/cancelling activities, identifying new ways of reaching out, video conferencing Bible studies and kids programs. WOW! But now, as we have traversed this COVID-19 wasteland, we come to the place where we can say... “Welcome back to Campus Life. We’re glad you are here”.
Starting in July we will begin doing some of our programming onsite. Kingdom Kids (2-10 year olds), Men’s Bible study and Crossover will all launch during the first week of the month at Campus Life. We are so excited for this and look for many new opportunities to share Christ. Senior Connect, our project-based serving opportunity, will also start again at the end of July.
In August, we are hoping to have a senior luncheon event under the big top (our tent). It will be different from our normal gatherings as guidelines are still changing by the day, but we’ll do the best we can with what we can do.
Juvenile Jail and Senior Oasis outreaches are still on hold, but things are looking better. More on those ministries next month.
As we move forward, please continue to pray. Pray for our community, our nation and the world. Please also pray for Campus Life. We need you and appreciate you. Please also, if you are able, continue to financially support Campus Life. Your generosity allows us to move the ministry forward in faith. Thank you for your time and may God bless all of you.
Sincerely,
