Fresh Year! Fresh Start! Fresh Faith!

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." -Isaiah 43:18-19

Dear Campus Life Friends,

Awhile back one of our staff was sitting at a local coffee shop with a woman who was going through a REALLY rough time. Through tears she told of her life before Christ, the unfaithful-

ness, the pride and arrogance, the times of complete and utter failure as a wife and mother.

Now, years later, she is still dealing with the consequences of her “previous life” and bad decisions. She still deals regularly with anxiety, depression and shattered family relationships, even though she has become a Christ follower. As our staff regularly does, she listened, shared scripture and prayed with this distraught woman. The most interesting comment shared by this woman however was, “I just wish I could go back and do it all over again, the right way”.

Sadly, we can’t do this, we can’t go back, and we can’t do it all over. We can only move forward. 2020 is over, and now we move into 2021. What’s your attitude going into this new year? I hope that it’s positive and encouraging. 2020 was hard for many reasons, but as the scripture listed above tells us “do not dwell in the past.” Because of our faith in Christ, and our trust in the promises of God revealed to us in the scriptures, we can move forward into a Fresh Year, for a Fresh Start, with Fresh Faith. God is doing and will continue to do new things. Let’s be excited for this. Let’s gaze with eager anticipation to the year ahead and trust in the God who is “making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” It’s going to be a good year. Believe it.

It’s a busy time here at Campus Life. Even though there are a number of things that we can’t do,

due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still ministry to be done. Club programs, Bible studies,

senior gatherings, service projects and mentoring. We also have tons of things that we are

planning for when restrictions are lifted. Stay tuned, there are some awesome things on the

horizon, and you’re going to want to be a part of them.

A very big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our annual Phoneless Phonathon appeal, mailed in a special year-end gift, or just blessed us with a regular contribution. Although we are still a far distance from our year-end goal we thank God for the way He has provided for the needs of the ministry. As a dear friend always reminds me, “we are blessed beyond measure” – so true. Words cannot adequately express our appreciation for your friendship and support. Thank you for partnering with us in sharing the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. Happy New Year.

Blessings,

Commenti
