Is God Mad at Me?

Dear Campus Life Friends,

One evening I was talking with a group of young guys about how we can learn more about who God is, what He is like, and what are some of His attributes. One young man, probably 17 years old said, “I always feel that God is mad at me. Every time I mess up, I feel like God is waiting to thump on me”. A very interesting comment and one I have heard from people of all ages.

Is God mad at me? Is He just waiting for me to fail one more time? Am I just too messed up to be saved? Satan just loves to throw these things at us, and we can easily fall into the trap of thinking that we’re just not good enough for God.

As I shared with the boys, it isn’t that we’re not good enough or worthy enough to be saved. We totally and completely are not, but God’s grace is enough to save us. We are saved by what Jesus did on the cross, and by faith in Him alone. As people of faith, we all love John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life," because it tells us what God did and why He did it. But John 3:17 tells us the true purpose behind what God did, "to save the world through Him." Isn’t it awesome that we don’t need to “perform” for God, but can simply have faith in Him, opening our hearts to loving God and living life His way? His love is overwhelming. Overwhelming for YOU and for me.

It’s crazy busy around Campus Life right now. School year programs have completed and

summer programming is ramping up fast. The Campus Life Kite Festival is only a little over a

week away and we are totally jazzed to offer this family fun activity. One week after that our

online auction kicks off on June 18th at 8 am and will run through June 20th at 8 pm. Within

the week you should be able to see the online auction catalog by visiting our website

GoCampusLife.com. There you can take a look at all of the awesome things businesses and

friends have donated, all for your bidding pleasure. Then on Saturday, June 26th, we’ll be

having the Campus Life 50th Anniversary Celebration starting with a brat fry beginning at 4 pm,

followed by a concert with folk musician Steve Austin, a celebration program at 6 pm, and

wrapping up with our live auction at 6:30 pm. All of this will be held under the “big top.” Plan

on joining us for this fantastic day as we celebrate what God has done, and continues to do,

through the ministry of Campus Life.

Thank you for being a part of this continuing miracle and continuing journey of Campus Life.

The first 50 years of this ministry has been awesome, and we are thankful for all that God has

done. But we are just as excited and encouraged as to what He will do in the next 50 years and

beyond. Each of you plays a part in this ministry. You’re important to us and we appreciate you.

Together we are making a difference as we continue helping people move one step closer to

Jesus - the author and perfecter of our faith.

Serving together,
