August 2020 Ministry Letter Update

Dear Campus Life Friends,

We’re usually pretty good at identifying problems. It’s the solutions to those problems that we struggle with. Denise was having coffee with one of our ministry supporters a few weeks back.

She was telling her about some extended family issues when the woman made the comment,

“I don’t know what to do to help.” Denise shared about how we are called to be salt and light to the world around us and how this woman might be the only praying/positive force in her family’s lives. Then the woman said something really interesting. She said, “They’re starving to death for Jesus. And I guess if they are starving to death for Jesus, I need to feed them.” WOW! What a lesson for all of us to learn. Jesus told Peter, “Feed my sheep.” Now, more than ever, there are a lot of spiritually hungry people and each one of us needs to feed them a whole lot of Jesus. That means you and that means me.

“Welcome back to Campus Life. We’re glad you are here.” It’s been so awesome to say those

words as many of our ministry programs have started up again. We will continue with our

relaunching of ministries during August, and hopefully, we’ll have almost everything back on

schedule by September (maybe even Juvi. Jail ministry). We are looking at some new ways of

doing ministry as social distancing seems as if it will continue for the foreseeable future.

The first ever Campus Life Online Auction is almost here. It’s been an adventure even before it has launched, but we have been so blessed by very generous business and individual donors, and a group of staff and volunteers here at Campus Life who have pulled the whole thing together. You can log in now to register and view the entire catalog. Then on August 3 at 8 am the bidding begins and continues until 6 pm, Friday, August 7. Pickup will be the following day, Saturday, August 8, from 9 am - 12 pm here at Campus Life. Remember, bid early, bid often, bid high and then repeat as necessary. What a great opportunity to bid on some awesome items and help out the ministry. Go to our website to begin your auction experience.

As I said last month, please continue to pray. Pray for our community, our nation and the world. Please also pray for Campus Life. We need you and appreciate you. Thank you for your support. Be it a general gift, Summer Harvest gift, memorial gift or one of the many other ways to contribute to this ministry – THANK YOU. Your generosity allows us to move forward in faith. May God bless all of you.

Sincerely,
