Dear Campus Life Friends,
Recently I observed a simple act of … caring and sharing. Let me share it with you. A few weeks ago, at the final Adventure Club (2 - 5 grade) of the school year, awards & prizes were handed out to students who had completed their year-long project. On one team, all of the students were given a prize for their accomplishment, except for one. One young lady didn’t complete her project and you could see it in her tears that she was terribly disappointed as all of her other teammates held on to their $5 gift cards. But that’s when something very special happened. Another girl on her team saw the problem and took action. She walked over and gave her gift card to the other girl. It reminded me of the scripture to “...not just be hearers of the word, but doers of the word.” Of course we made it right with the generous young lady and she got a replacement gift card, but her action of love and compassion should be inspiring to all of us as we look at ways (sometimes very simple ways) to share the love of Christ.
Do you see opportunities to share some light in the darkness? Do you look for ways to help? Sometimes the best teachers are little children. I think we could learn from this generous young lady and her simple act of … caring and sharing.
The Campus Life 50th Anniversary Celebration & Benefit Auction are over and WOW what an event it was. We saw so many friends, and met many others who had not been around for years. What a history and legacy Campus Life has. Such a blessing to so many people. Also, the auction was amazing as thousands of dollars of merchandise were donated and then auctioned off, all to help support ministry programs. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this great event possible. We couldn’t do it without you.
Things are on the move here as we look forward to more great summer-time activities. We’re only a couple of weeks away from Adventure Day Camp for 3rd thru 5th graders. Club programs continue weekly, Formula-4 small group activities are happening regularly, and we are spending significant time in the Juvi. Jail. Our ministry to seniors is also busy this time of year with Spice of Life twice each month and Senior Connect. We’re also only about 6 weeks away from relaunching our student ministry leadership program for fall. We are so thankful to our staff and volunteers who make all of this happen.
Thank you for being a part of this “continuing miracle.” I trust you will have a wonderful summer as we continue to work together to make Christ known to the youth and families of Sheboygan County. As always, your gifts are greatly appreciated and greatly needed. Thank you for your active support, prayers and encouragement. We serve a great God, and we appreciate having caring friends like you. Blessings to you all.
Serving together,
