YES, THEY ARE WORTH IT

Dear Campus Life Friends –

A number of months ago a gentleman that I was telling about the ministry of Campus Life said, “Do you really think it’s worth it?  You, the staff, and the volunteers invest so many hours, days, weeks and sometime months or even years into people, only to see no return on your investment.  Is it really worth it?”  Honestly, I didn’t see that coming.  First I was irritated by his comment, then I got frustrated, then I started to get angry, but then came understanding and peace (all in a matter of about 3 seconds).  He was looking for a return on his investment (ROI), but that’s not how ministry works.  Yes, we invest a lot of time in people. Many times they are messy people with messy lives. But each person is made in the image of God and is loved by their heavenly Father.  Jesus came and died to save EACH and every one of them from their sins. YES, THEY ARE ALL WORTH IT!  We never apologize for investing in people.  Even if things don’t work out the way we think that they should, we just keep on sharing the Gospel, praying for God to do mighty things, and being the hands and feet of Christ the best that we are able.  We’re just planting seeds, God does the heavy lifting.  YES, THEY ARE WORTH IT.

Summer is off to a GREAT start. Kingdom Kids PLUS, Roots and Impact all provide great opportunities for youth, all helping kids move one step closer to Jesus. Adventure Camp is almost here. Our first ever Mother Son Adventure is right around the corner. What a super opportunity

for moms and their sons of any age to build into that precious relationship, all designed around food, games and baseball. And our Family Fun Fair Summer Fundraiser is coming up quickly.  It’s going to be a fantastic event providing family fun for all ages and helping Campus Life raise needed funds to help continue and expand the ministry. 

Speaking of expanding the ministry, next month in my Ministry Update Letter I’ll be sharing really exciting news regarding some new and expanded ministry opportunities starting in the Fall. God opens doors and we walk through them. Updates coming soon!
